i filled out a financial aid form and this is what it says Based on your EFC of 00000, you may be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant of up to $5,550 for the 2011-2012 school year.

How am i gonna get the money? i dont know what to do. i filled out the form and it said that my info was processed. it said that i was eligible for $5,550 Federal Pell Grant. am i gonna get $5,550 and if so how am i gonna get it? what should i do now? i have to pay my college tuition by august 3rd.

I’m hoping you submitted that FAFSA to your college. They will process your financial aid application (assuming you have provided them with EVERYTHING that is required to do so) and will issue you a financial aid award. If it includes the Pell Grant, this amount will be credited (part for each term) to your college bursars account…I believe…once the award is accepted by you.

Yeah what thumper1 said. Also I would suggest you sit down with your financial ad visor and have them take a look at your finances status. Make sure you contact the school because normally you’d have to provide additional paperwork to your financial office.

I’d do it ASAP because you’re in such a tight deadline spot. Go sit with an officer at your school administration office, they’d be able to help you a lot faster.

i filled out the form online and i put down the college that i’ll be attending. this is what it said “Based on the information we have on record for you, your EFC is 00000 . You may be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant and other federal student aid. Your school will use your EFC to determine your financial aid eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work study, and possible funding from your state and school.” should i contact to my school and i tell them that im eligible for a financial aid or will they know about it. do i have to do something or will the school give me the money.

i looked at my schools website and this is what it said, “After applying for financial aid with the FAFSA you will receive an e-mail with a link to your Student Aid Report if you included a valid e-mail address on your application. If you did not include an e-mail address you will receive a paper Student Aid Report (SAR) with the results. If Suffolk County Community College was included on your application, we will receive those results electronically and you will receive an award within 2 weeks.” i applied for financial aid 5 days ago so in 10 days or so i should get an award right.

My school website says the same thing. It says I received the grant and that I am eligible for over 5000 and that I need to accept it. I don’t know how to accept mine either.

my school website is kinda down it wouldnt let me review my financial aid awards. i called the schools financial office they didnt answer im gonna call them later today.

i called the financial aid office and they told me to talk to the chasier and make an arrangement. im gonna go to my school tomorrow and talk to the cashier and tell her that im waiting for a financial aid.

You school will receive your FAFSA. They will use the information ON the FAFSA to determine your eligibility for need based aid. Then they will create a financial aid “package” which they will offer to you. This will include what you are eligible for (Pell is an entitlement and assuming you filled out the forms correctly, you will get this), Stafford loans perhaps, work study perhaps, and perhaps a university grant of some sort if there are any still available for which you qualify.

Are you a transfer student or a community college student? I’m only asking because many other schools or situations would have required a MUCH earlier filing of the FAFSA form.

When you go to the school…make an appointment to talk to a financial aid advisor in addition to the cashier. Bring your copy of the FAFSA with you…and check the school’s website to see if there are any OTHER required forms…if there are…take those too.
