Federal Work Study: Am I accepted?

Hello,

In my financial aid report for the University of Central Florida, it is displaying $3000 for Federal Work Study.

Since it's being displayed in my financial aid report, does this mean I am accepted into the work study program for UCF?

No, it just means you are “eligible” for work study. You still have to take the initiative to find a job on campus. Look on the school web site for student jobs or something similar. You may want to check out the presentation.

If federal work study does not show up on your financial aid summary, does that mean you don’t qualify and can’t work on campus?

You can still work on campus, but you cannot apply for work study jobs, whose wages are subsidized. Not all jobs are work study jobs. There are plenty of jobs that do not require work study.

At my college there were two job boards (it was before Internet went mainstream ), there were no shortage of non work study jobs. The biggest difference was that work study jobs usually, but not all the time, paid more than non workstudy.
