I recently was thrilled to discover that I am a national merit semifinalist. This has made me a little more hopeful about several colleges, but we do not have unlimited funds to spend on application fees. Are there any colleges well known for waiving application fees for national merit semifinalists? Or is there any way I can get colleges to offer to do that? (I don't demonstrate that level of financial need.)

I’m curious too

You can check out the websites of the colleges/universities you’re interested in. Google ‘College X national merit application fee waiver’. If you search for search without the college name you’ll find a number of schools who mention waivers.

In Maryland our state schools UMBC and UM - College Park gave waivers last year. I did a quick google search and it looks like it’s more common at state schools.

Drexel is free to apply to if you use the online application, and gives full tuition scholarships for NMFs.
