Are you in 8th grade? It’s honestly silly to plan this far in advance. You need to see how well you can do in the regular classes before you decide to take AP.
no i’m a sophomore hahaha
@baker123 sorry I missed that. Guess I assumed as there were no grades posted. Assuming the grades are good… The only problem I see might be AP bio and APush together with 2 other APs, as those 2 are generally very time consuming. Also, do students at your school usually do AP lit and AP Lang in that order? If not, I’d switch it.
Do you like all of the advanced courses mentioned? AP stats will likely not help you admission wise, so unless you really love stats, I wouldn’t take it on top of the other 3 APs
@soontobecolleger yeah sorry i probably should have put my grades but i ended freshman year with a 4.3 gpa and only one B+ in first semester ap world (hardest class at my school). and yeah i know that my school switched ap lit and lang buts it’s the required way to do it. i don’t think i am too concerned with AP bio and APUSH because i really like biology and i have past experience working with ap social studies courses. i have changed my schedule since i posted this for senior year but i want to do stats just because i would need to do it for the major i’m interested in and i was thinking about doing it in high school since it is generally considered to be easy.
What major are you interested in? Some majors that require stats may not allow AP stats to substitute for the particular required course - it depends.
At my kids’ school, AP Lang is taken in 11th and AP Lit in 12th, and the kids who don’t love English typically won’t take both.
No matter what, you’ll need to take statistics in college, in part because statistics for the major may not be the same as AP stats (in particular stats for business and economics or biostatistics, v. General elementary statistics for Humanities which is closer to AP stats) and in part because statistics is part of ‘relevant coursework’ on your resume when you apply for internships and employers don’t care what classes you took in high school. So, you may take stats in high school to preview the college class, or take it in college only, but don’t add AP stats to your schedule thinking you’ll get out if it in college, it’d be a miscalculation.
@evergreen5 @MYOS1634 oh ok thanks guys! i will take that into consideration! everyone’s input has helped me so much!!!
