Feelings on Dual Enrollment?

Hey there everyone-

I was just wondering what everyone thought about dual enrollment, and its place in ivy league and out of state schools. At my school only 3 AP classes are offered, (US history, Eng lang., and lit.), and the only other true "honors" path was to take classes at the local community college. Will Ivy League schools such as Yale, Cornell, and Dartmouth look at my situation and see that I took the best classes available to me, or will this greatly harm my chances due to the influx of Full-AP scheduled students...

Thanks

jgonzo220,

During high school, I took 0 AP courses, but tried to take the hardest courses available to me.

I got into Harvard EA, so they just want you to take the hardest courses that you can.

(just to clarify, there were no AP courses offered at my school)

At highly selective schools, we look at students within their own individual academic contexts. So, if you've taken the most rigorous courses available to you - meaning the APs at your high school and maybe some of the community college classes - we will recognize this and believe you've challenged yourself the best you could! No one will penalize you for going to a school that offers only a couple of APs :).
