I’ve heard in the past that females recieve a little boost in admission chances as compared to males applicants to the EECS major or MechE. Does this hold true for biomedical engineering or other engineering divisions?
I heard that too, but it seems like as of now, there is no lack of females going into engineering anymore. I’m not super sure about biomed and stuff, but the female to male ratio in the compsci classes in my school district is 2:1.
I thought something like that was outlawed by California law? Don’t want to be a highjacker here but would this apply to African Americans as well?
@BoredEngineer California public universities are prohibited from using race as a factor in admissions. You can google more about it but I believe that law is restricted to a) public schools and b) race.
Ah okay. Thanks for clarifying
