Are there any potential repercussions to requesting this information? It’s just for my own curiosity.

  1. It’d be easier to advise potential students because we could see what kind of things the adcom wrote on our applications.

  2. I saw a girl from Yale who got in in part because she was from Minneapolis. I want to see if that exists here wrt Honors admissions (angular admissions vs. holistic).

  3. I want to see how formulaic the admissions system is here.

Would it go on file that I made the FERPA request? Would they share that information with grad schools?

You’d first have to check to see if UMD keeps admissions files (Yale has started to delete them because of the requests). Also, I doubt there would even be many adcom comments on UMD admissions files, considering how many they go through.
