Fetishes you had when you were young??

I LOVED goosebumps i had like every single book till the Abominable Snowman when i left to korea. I also had some obsessions with Garfield. ALso hmm had some love for sega saturn which is trash right now. Good thing i sold while i could. ;) Let's see hmm I think i loved watching Are you afraid of the dark and Pete & Pete. I miss those shows.

Mmm... Sega Saturn.

Goosebumps was awesome. I'm remember reading each one up to some pretty high number, almost 50 I think. My favorite remained "Cockoo Clock of Doom."

Afraid of the Dark, haha, I remember when that show scared me. :)

I remember when I went to Sea World and came back being obsessed w/ dolphins. I think I read every dolphin book in the library.

Was it just me, or was every other girl in the Goosebumps books named Hannah?

Hmmm...Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Digimon, Card Captors...lol, w/e, I STILL love all anime! I used to be realllly into the Animorph books, too, Jimmy! When Rachel died, I spent about a week crying at odd moments. I liked (and still like) Reboot, that was an awesome show. Mmm, I also used to like Backstreet Boys, and Spice Girls...And I still adore videogames, the Legend of Zelda ones, especially.

I liked Power Rangers......but, I also never ate anything taht looked bad. It could have been the tastiest ice cream in the world, but if it looked like slop, I wouldn't touch it.

I loved the sega hockey games...NHL 93 was the best. Sand animals, beanie babies (I had like 60), that candy with the white stick that you dip in colored powder (fundip?), the hardy boys and nancy drew, pokemon (the game boy game, not so much the show or anything), yeah, lots of stuff.

I think you guys are a little confused about the meaning of the word fetish...

.. only the OP. but we understand what she meant.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=67&q=fetish

fet·ish
n.
2. An object of unreasonably excessive attention or reverence: made a fetish of punctuality.

Yeah, so the word has a sexual connotation to it nowadays, but the way the OP used it is still technically and grammatically correct.

Technically, perhaps, but by connotation, no. We're exaggeration here.

It's completely fine to use this word the way the OP uses it - it's used in pop culture this way too.

Fetishes would be.............

My Super Nintendo-the best game consel in the world :grins:. I had a cool game that compiled almost, if not all, the Mario games in one cartridge, Super Mario All-Stars. I had Yoshi's world, the one where Mario would shoot ducks and have fireballs, etc. Those were the good ole' dayz.

I wanted to be a writer. I still do sort of, but when I was young I was at a stage when that was all I thought about . I read books like crazy. I wanted to emulate the writing of the books I read. Of course, want doesn't develop into a successful endeavor, but I have managed to grow as a writer.

Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z were my favorite shows back then. And, let's not forget, Digipets, those hand-held devices that allowed owners to take care of their virtual pets.

So, these are the fetishes that comes to mind right now.

digiMON? yeah, i had one too.

anyway, pop culture sucks :P

Bill Nye the Science Guy

and Sailor Moon when I was around 6 or 7ish.

Ah, I had so many fetishes lol. The old days.

I had Mario All-Stars too... it was fantastic :) It was Super Mario Bros 1,2 and 3 and the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros 2 (which wasn't originally released in the US because Nintendo thought it was too hard for non-Japanese...lol). Had Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island too. Fantastic :)
