I was accepted into UCSB's College of Letter's and Sciences for Film and Media Studies. I plan on double majoring in Computer Sciences as well. Would the workload be far too overwhelming? I consider myself a pretty hardworker and am rather passionate in both, but would these two majors being fairly different be too much of a problem?

Also, I understand there is Film Production at UCSB? Is this offered as a major, because on Collegeboard it says it is but on the website, it is not.

you can’t double majoring with a major at a different college.

If you are a transfer student, doubling in CS and Film and Media Studies will not be possible, as if you are not admitted into the COE as a transfer you will never be able too. As a Freshmen, since you were not admitted into the College of Engineering (where CS is housed) most likely you will not ever be able to change into COE or double major. The College is extremely impacted and rarely ever accepts students to transfer in. Consider it very unrealistic. UCSB does not have a major in Film Production, the major is very theory based with limited production although some opportunities exist for production. Take a look at what the department offers: [University of California Santa Barbara, Film and Media Studies Department, 2433 Social Sciences & Media Studies Building , Santa Barbara, CA, 93106-4010 phone: 805 893 2347](http://www.filmandmedia.ucsb.edu/) to see if it is a program you are actually interested in. If CS is what you really want please look into other schools that offered you that major.
