Film School

I am currently a High School Junior and am feeling called to be in the film business. I am very interested in photography and film and create my own projects as my hobby. I am trying to get through film school with as less debt as possible (not no debt because that's pretty impossible) so I was wondering if someone can help lead me in in the right direction: Currently my plan is to graduate as an A+ Senior which is where you tutor for 50 hours and get 2 free years of community college, get my associates in either management, marketing, or finance while getting involved in film internships over the summer and save money to have my own car and just get everything under control. Then transfer to a four year university to finish my degree while taking film classes on the side. Then I want to go to grad school with the money I saved up to be a film producer. I would major in Film producing and hopefully go to school on the west coast. Then I have a car and equipment so I can at least have some materials needed to make my film projects for grad school. Thank you for your help :)

I don’t know what state you live in but Fitchburg State University has a pretty affordable BA in Film, it’s not the best school though. Emerson College (while expensive) is great for film. They offer everything from producing to directing to sound and they also have an opportunity to take a semester in LA, get hands on experience and make connections in the industry. A lot of very successful people have come out of Emerson. On campus they have the exact set of Will & Grace that the creator donated to them because he was an alumni.
