What are some art schools that are renowned, specialized etc for filmmaking, and not animation or other forms of art?

What exactly does an 'experimental' program mean? How does it differ from USC, NYU, BU, or even LMU? Do they still follow the routine of in junior/senior year, everyone works on just a few selected screenplays?

I'm interested in CalArts - could someone elaborate on their undergrad film program?

Look up Chapman University, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. Up and coming. Brand new building, state of the art technology.

Well, I was actually accepted into Chapman but not interested after further research. Chapman isn't really an 'art' school either.

Anyone got any info??

I see. Have you looked at New York Film Academy?

NYFA is just a trade school (not four years, no degree.) I'm looking into applying to the 'artsy' film schools. To name a few, those would be, CalArts, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, San Francisco Art Institute...
