@camomof3 We did a video for talent $$, same thing, finding a wall, the lightening…way more involved than we thought it would be.
We filmed ours on an iPhone in the hallway at my office using the Camera’s BFA pre-screen setting. Just kidding, there is no BFA pre-screen setting, but there should be. Come on, Apple. Even though we did them on nights and weekends, more than once someone showed-up to see what the heck was going on in the hallway. Worked for all the pre-screen schools except one. Also, I am sure the video pushed him over the top for UCSD because he was admitted there but not at some other UC campuses that are supposedly easier to get into. Sons pre-screens did not involve a lot of movement with the feet. Had he been moving around the room, I think it might have been tough with iPhone. He did one standing and one sitting. Other students had success using a high end HD camera that they borrowed from the high school. I got the impression that as long as the image and sound are clear, it probably doesn’t matter if one uses a basic camera or a fancy one. Break a leg!!
