Fin Aid Awards?

@Jimmy797 and im sorry you cant attend cornell. good luck :)

Good luck to Jimmy797. Did you get FA from other schools? I hope it works out for you.

@imi1928:
Did you apply? I think it may come in a separate packet.

yeah, i applied. i did send in some forms late but i was told that many applicants did so as well. like you said, i guess it just comes later.
with only a month left to make the final decisions about which college to go to, i hope it comes soon

Hey guys,
got my financial aid package in the mail today from the financial aid office. It was amazing! Talked about my award and what total expenses cover. I only live an hour away from Cornell so expect yours in the next few days :slight_smile: gl

The Cornell website said FA awards would be mailed on March 30. Haven’t gotten our here in Maryland yet; hoping it arrives tomorrow.

So, if we have not gotten an e-mail either saying that our financial aid application is being reviewed or that there are missing materials, we can assume it is in the mail. Is this correct? I got my welcome letter but not fin aid. To those that got it, was it snail mail or priority? If fin aid is snail mail, it makes sense that it would lag behind the priority-mail welcome packet.

Also, 2 of my other schools sent out admissions decisions and financial aid at the same time. The others that did not, released decisions earlier, before all financial aid documents were available and have also told me recently. Did Cornell really not send them together? That’s so weird considering they have had everything for 1-2 months.

No, I actually only applied to 3 schools in the US and got into only Cornell, and they didn’t offer FA. You think I could sort of… negotiate with them, perhaps? Maybe they’d agree? I was quite looking forward to going to a great college in the USA, especially one as prestigious/huge/awesome atmosphere as Cornell.
If not, I suppose I’ll be going to a local school (parents won’t have to pay a cent). It’s an excellent school and it’s local, so there are benefits I guess.

bump 10 char.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. You can try to negotiate (as will I) but it’s unlikely to yield any positive result.
