Fin. Aid if on Waitlist?

Does anyone know the chance of a wait listed person getting fin. aid? I live in so. cal and am debating whether or not BU or UCSB is the better choice for me. After doing some small research, both have typically the same diversity, academics, and the same pop. for undergrads. It’s really a tough choice. BU has the great city scene while SB just closer to home, friends, and family. I got a little bit of fin. aid from SB and don’t know what to expect from BU if I get admitted. 200k is a lot to dish out for 4 years especially since its only undergrad education. If anyone can answer, it would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t think you will know the financial aid situation until you are accepted. Without that information, the only thing to do is put your deposit down at where you have been accepted. Keep your name on the wait list and wait until the offer is made. Once you have the actual numbers in front of you the answer will be clearer.

I got accepted off of the waiting list and the fin. aid is minimal. Its almost painful to look at when I compare it to the nearly full ride I got at Denison U. It sucks because I want to go to Boston ridiculously bad. However, my family sent in a letter to the fin. aid department with an attachment of my scholarship awards and a letter, so if they can match it, and I don’t see why, being such a big school why they shouldn’t be able to, I’ll get to go.
