If I'm an american citizen living outside the U.S. in a country that has no taxes, how do you file for tax returns while filling out the FAFSA application?

Are your parents US citizens, also? If so, weren’t they supposed to be filing US returns? If they aren’t citizens, but you are and you haven’t had any significant income, I don’t think you would have been expected to file.

For you and your parents: [Publication 54 (2009), Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad](http://www.irs.gov/publications/p54/index.html)

You may want to contact FAFSA directly to find out how to complete the forms in your specific case. You aren’t the only one in your situation, so they will be able to advise you.

Good luck!
