On the "where am I in the process" site, it shows my financial aid awards, but then there's a note underneath saying that my award is "tentative" until they receive all of the required documents, and they haven't yet received:
a) the FAFSA
b) the CMU finaid application
c) my parents' tax returns
d) my tax return
However, right underneath that note it says they've received all of those (except my tax return, which I don't have so it was waived). All of the documents listed under "Financial Aid Documents Needed" have a "Date Received" entry.

Has anybody else had this problem? Also the problem of not getting nearly enough financial aid?

Maybe you should just call or email them and ask. It does seem kind of odd that they mark your materials as having arrived but not removed the tentative status. Is it possible that you need to send some documentation regarding your lack of tax return?

Please call the Office of Admission re: your question. Basically the a "tentative" award, just means that we haven't received one of the aforementioned documents. There may be some additional circumstances, if you call the office a counselor will be happy to discuss your specific situation.
