Ran NPC with one in N.J. state school and have my number of 35,000 which is doable for the three years of overlap with son and daughter but fin aid page and office say it is different when sibling is at state school. Does anyone know how much it differs? Fin aid office won’t tell me and said check in October but daughter is thinking ED and that’d be cutting it close to see if we could afford it. Lafayette FAO said there is no diff at their school
Glad you are doing this now. Different schools treat siblings in college different ways. Some won’t include trade or vocational or community colleges. Some want the actual cost of the other college. Many make little or no adjustment when a sibling enters college.
Right. I know about community college and grad school and parents as students but I found it on the actual HC website. I wasn’t prepared for that and gave me pause. I had just figured I could swing it for the overlap years and then cough up 58,000 for the one year there isn’t overlap. That will hurt but palatable when the other three years are almost state school price
I don’t know how helpful this will be, but I have a younger sibling in a state school (we are three years overlap in college) and I’ve seen my financial aid increase over my time at Haverford.
