How is Chicago about giving out aid. I will need 25k+ to attend. I was pleasantly surprised to recieve a lot of money from JHU but will Chicago be as generous? Will Chicago provide the difference of my EFC and the final bill? Thanks,

Chicago provides 100% of demostrated need. Or so says the website.

from my experience, and dont take my word on this, they are pretty good about providing you with ways to pay the difference between the EFC and their bill. A combination of grant and loan in my case.

grant plus small loan for difference

A mi tambien. Large grant, small loan, work-study (may not do - who knows).

What exactly is the Work study? Basically what it says?

yeah, its like getting a job at the library or at the various offices to help pay for your tuition.

I'm not sure, but though the FA package offers it you can turn it down and vouge for more loans.

So does that mean that some RDers got their financial aid packages already?

i am an RDer.
i got my finaid package today.
iono what it looks like. my dad has it right now in his office.
apparently he is content with the $ award.
