Fin Aid

wow my EFC was 3,600 and my fin aid package from Fordham is 22,000 so I have to come up with over 10,000 on my own. I am very angry and probably not going to FU.

wow.. that sucks.. I didn't know fordham was so bad with aid.

stop complaining my parents are paying the whole thing at whatever college i choose to attend

Wow, i hope you are being sarcastic dilo2330. I mean, wouldn't it be great if everybody had parents who could pay for all of college for them? Gee, you're a lucky kid.

pp000441,
Was the 22,000 in gift aid or did that include loans? If gift, it's not too bad. Most schools will expect you to take some loans.

i got 3,000 plus in loans. i dont understand this- my friend whose EFC was 19000 got 22000 in aid as well.

My EFC is higher than that, but even if I got the $22,000, I still wouldn't be able to go. Sorry to hear yours wasn't higher.

Now we know what the school initials really stand for.

I got $5,000 metro grant

Did you guys get your fin. aid packages with your acceptances? I got my acceptance a couple of weeks ago, but I don't think I received a fin. aid package.....Can you find out online?

I just got my financial aid package and i am quite happy with it. I received the Loyola Scholarship ($7,000) plus various other grants equalling about $29,000, plus i am eligiable for work study and stafford loan which brings it up to a little over $34,000.

I recieved my financial aid today and it's horrible. $6225. Loyola Scholarship, too.... for $800. So much for that...

Mine sucked too..

can you tell us your stats kbelle (sorry, I don't mean to be rude...I am a junior who wants to attend but I really need a deal like yours) !!

thanks

sats: 1220
gpa: 3.9 unweighted

my efc was very low due to the fact that my mothers income could only be used and also because I have a sister in college already.

being instate also helped quite a bit. I received 5,000 for TAP alone.

ETA : i realize that it is very unusual that Fordham gave me so much money and i appreciate it so much. Fordham was my second choice school but the financial aid package might be enough to move it to first.

I got like $8,000. Oh well.

Fordham told me they wanted my mom's tax forms or whatever, and she hasn't gathered all the info for them yet. Guess that was all they could offer me without all that. My friend got $28,000, so I was kind of shocked nonetheless.
