Does the financial aid offers usually decrease over time? (Like does the Expective student contribution increase?)

Are there horror stories about changes in finaid policies?

thanks.

PS: I'm specifically interested in how good finaid is for pton, compared to Harvard, MIT, Stanford. A compare and contrast kind of approach would be nice.

When we asked this question three years ago, we were told “No one ever turns Harvard down over aid.” Three years and two kids later, my wife and I concur. The aid doesn’t decrease, there are no horror stories, the staff is incredibly helpful and willing to take your best interests into account. Coming from a state in which students with a 3.0 or better get in-state tuition free, I’m frequently asked how I can afford to have two kids at Harvard. Know what? It’s cheaper to send them to Harvard after their financial aid than it would be to send them to U.Ga., even with full-tuition scholarships!

^ ^ Agreed. The aid does not decrease and the finaid office is terrific to work with. They are also great when it comes to finaid for study abroad.
