At this point in the ID process, what forms do we have to send in regarding FinAid? I received my ID & PIN to check my status, but no FinAid forms in the mail. After I finished the CSS there was a code next to Rice, indicating that Rice wanted 2004 tax forms, but I can't seem to find that requirement on its FinAid website. Help?

http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~fina/polpro.htm. If I remember correctly ID students will need to send in 2005 tax forms, not 2004. (The website may not have updated the year of the tax forms requested)
I remember I had to really hurry to finish our taxes by early february to be able to submit tax forms in time for my D's ID application 2 years ago.

What are ALL the forms that we have to send out? CSS, FAFSA, & 2005 tax forms (parents & students) ? Does Rice have its own forms?

Rice's financial aid packet says that ED CSS's need to be filed by November 15, 2005. My parents and I did not do that in time. Does that mean we don't have a chance at need-based aid?

Bump On My Question Please!

Other than my previous question of What are ALL the forms that we have to send out? CSS, FAFSA, & 2005 tax forms (parents & students) ? Does Rice have its own forms?", I was wondering if accepted, does Rice tell you what your finaid status is along w/ the notification (since the fafsa is due after the notification date, or is it just using the CSS as a prelim?)?

call the admissions office..cuz these are all questions that only they can answer.

i am very happy with the rice financial aid. they covered a 100 percent of my need!

Sergio that's excellent! I assume u applied ED this year?

I applied ED and used the CSS profile. They estimated full ride for me but I was wondering how accurate this estimate was?

they estimated a full ride for me too. I went and talked with my assigned financial aid councelor last week. all of us have one assigned already. you can call and ask who it is and talk to him or her. mine is a really nice lady. she said that the css profile estimate was accurate if the information you provided was accurate. the official offer will be sent to you after the fafsa. they will ceck the veracity of the fafsa themselves before and then send you an official offer. she told me unless you parent's income changes a great deal, it would be the same. also, they will write you a check for 8000 dollars if you're not living on campus if you have the full ride offer because you are not using that money. i changed my mind to living at home after hearing that because i would rather keep that money and invest it. also, if you manage to get more than tuition money in scholarships, they would give you what you get over back, nomatter how much it is.

yes i applied ED this year

"They" as in rice or CSS? if css, where can you find that after you submit it?

When do ID applicants have to submit the FAFSA by? Feb. 15th? If so, does that mean we don't get info about our FinAid package until March 15th, or will Rice use the CSS to create one for the time being?

they created one for the time being with the css profile, thats the one you get with your acceptance letter. however, the actual official one will not be ready until around march

does anyone have experience with the Rice financial aid? Are they generous with it and do you know if the loan portion is large?

they are very generous with it if you need it. like i said, they estimated a full ride for me. my dad is a single parent and he is disabled, so we have low income. they are giving me a full ride and i never have to pay it back. if your parents make less than 30000, the loan portion of the packet is eliminated and you will have to pay nothing. just like me. also, since they estimated a full ride, if you dont live in campus they give you 8000 a year since ur not using that money for rooming.
