~Essays + Recs

submitting 2 essays (main + supplemental), all my teachers said they really liked them...did NOT do the "what did you create" essay (will this hurt a lot??)
1 rec from history teacher who is also my coach, we're very good friends and it should be personal
1 rec from physics teacher...will be good but wont stand out as much as the other
1 rec from the CMIO at cornell med college
1 rec from xc/track coach at MIT

thanks guys

Overall, pretty decent chance. At first I was a little surprised that u sent 4 recs, but they will all be different recs i.e. one science, one humanities, once sports, and one from the internship. So hopefully they won't mind the 4 recs. I think it would **** them off if you got like 1 from chem teacher, 1 from physics teacher, 1 from math teacher, and then the required humanities, but because yours are spread off i dont think theylll mind.

From what I can see, the worst thing you have going for you are the 4s on the calc and stats tests, and that's not bad at all. It's just that tons of applicants will have 5s on calc bc and stats (plus many others). It probably won't hurt you you too much. You're academics themselves are good, but not amazing. I'm thinking with the ECs (especially the track and Cornell thing) may set you apart from the crowd, so I think you do stand a pretty good chance, at least probably a better chance than i do.

haha ye i have no idea what i was doing for the calc test. I really should have gotten a 5. The stats was a self-study. I basically picked the book up a week before the test and just read through. Bad move again.

thanks for your input

haha i got a 109/3 on the AMC/AIME too :P

looks good

haha nice. mediocrity ftw
