I think I may have to make a decision between Emory and Michigan and I'm looking at every angle between the two. Can you guys offer any insights into the pros and cons of each, especially when compared with each other? My interests are... undecided. I might look into Law or business but part of my decision is gonna be based on which one will allow me to explore a little bit and decide based on that. I'm from a good northeast public school in a suburb of NY city. I'm not into tiny schools but that's not really an issue here. I'm not sure how I feel about huge schools (i.e. Michigan). I liked the Emory campus a lot and like the notion of Atlanta being a few minutes away but Ann Arbor wasn't bad either and the Michigan campus was nice too. The school's reputation and the way it's perceived is also fairly important. Thanks!!

whys everyone deciding between emory and michigan?..lawyr2B is thinking about emory as well.

They are both fine schools with many positive attributes.

Like I said in an earlier post, both schools are excellent. You really should go with which school you feel more at home in. Just remember that Michigan feels smaller than it really is. The campus is very effectively compartmentalized, the resources are plentiful and the faculty is large enough to give students a relatively personal feel. The only time you will feel the size at Michigan is when you have to deal with the administration and when you go to football games.

In terms of reputations, both are highloy respected where it matters most (in the eyes of graduate school adcoms and potential employers. Michigan probably has an edge in the Midwest and Emory probably has the edge in the South. Michigan also has a pretty large following in California and NY. But like I said, to those who know universities, both are high respected.

goto Coca Cola . it'll probably be better.
