Final Consideration before May 1: Hofstra Honor's w/ transfer to NYU Stern or Fordham Gabelli School

After a long few months of admissions stress, I have narrowed my options down to two. I have been admitted into Northeastern, BU, UMiami, Penn State, Ithaca Honor's, and Binghamton, but zero financial aid from any of the private schools, which leaves me with my two options in the title.

1) I was admitted to Fordham EA and I was given 12K/year in scholarship/grant aid but no financial aid. I have decided to go through the appeals process, with hope of another 15K, which I am by no means expecting, but more or less hoping for. I do know friends who were able to get what they needed. So assuming that they come through, this is one of my two prevalent options and I want to RA in college just because it is fitting to my personality, which would take away the cost of room and board for at least 2 years (hopefully 3).

Option 2) I have been admitted into Hofstra Honors, with a $100K scholarship. I would commute from my home, so I would not pay for dorming. My intention is to do this for 2 years and transfer into Stern, Yes, I know transferring into Stern is no easy feat, but I have discussed this with my guidance counselor and she is encouraging it.

Ultimately, I want to be connected to the great internships in NYC. I believe that both options give me that advantage and they both offer me small class sizes, which is easily the most important thing for me at any school. It is just a matter of which has the better long term benefit? (I am still waiting to hear form NYU, but CAS for econ) I just cannot see graduating with mass amounts of debt, and if option 1 goes as planned, both options would leave me with little to no debt. I want to be an investment banker as well, and I see that Stern is very well known for those graduates. I would want to eventually get an MBA as well.

I appreciate any opinions, thanks!

Anyone?

That seems like a good option. Hofstra Honors College has a good reputation, but again, it’s going to take some work on your part if you transfer to Stern. Good Luck.

What about Binghamton?
