Sorry to bother people again with this question. But since the last time, I received 12500 from GT's Presidential Scholarship Program (I was notified today). I double deposited in UMN and GT just in case I got the PSP. Now, I am truly stuck between the two. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Situation:
Double deposited in GT and UMN--This was my parent's idea. I was pretty much going to UMN as I had a scholarship there and in the honors program. But my parents didn't want me to give up on GT and getting any money.

Financial: 10000 from UMN per year. 12500 from GT. The percentage of scholarship to overall fees per year is about the same at both.

Intangibles: I loved both UMN and GT. The programs are both stellar for chemical engineering. Now with this added situation, it's just really confusing about what I should do.

If you need any more info, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Which is farther away from parents? :D

BTW: I’ll take your slot at Tech!!

I don’t know what type of scholarships you have at UMN, but remember that the PSP is a scholarship PROGRAM so you get many added benefits besides the money. I believe you get priority housing, special GT1000 section, the fall retreat the week before school starts (great way to meet people), study abroad scholarships and extra advising/special opportunities. If you talk to most PS upperclassmen (and probably underclassmen too) they will almost uniformly tell you that the best parts of the PSP are the people and the opportunities, not the money. Just something to keep in mind.

Haha Jacket…I wish it were that simple. Parents would be an hour away by plane regardless of where I go. I can’t get rid of them.

@Crossing: UMN’s are just scholarships, not a program. I’m in UMN honors, but waitlisted for GT honors. The fact that PSP is a program actually is more appealing. Thanks for your info.
