Final Decisions for an International with Aid

So now that its all done with, I thought I should post what my decisions have been like, so that others can use it to (very) roughly gauge their own chances.

My Stats briefly:
SAT I: 780M 740CR 720W = 2240
SAT II: 800 Math II, 800 Physics, 800 Chemistry
IB Predicted Grade: 41/42

Leadership: Secretary of Events and then Head of Student Council, Vice Captain Soccer team, Head of Theatre Club, Participated in extremely selective 'Peace Conference' hosted by UWC.

Theatre: Acted, Directed and Produced.

Debates and ModelUN: Best Delegate at one of the MUNs.

Research: Wrote paper on 'The Use of Chaos Theory and Time Lags in Predicting Earthquakes'

Won a lot of academic awards in school and was awarded a 'Merit Award' as one of the smartest students in the state.

Essays: I was extremely happy with my essays and thought they were one the strongest part of my application.

Teacher Recommendations: Stellar, if I do say so myself.

Financial Aid: I asked for a LOT of aid.

So, here are the results:

Accepted: Middlebury (Got an early notification with 43K in grant aid!!)

Waitlisted: Rice (After getting a likely letter. They said it had to do with the finances), UChicago, Northwestern, Williams, WashU, Carleton, Grinnell.

Rejected: Princeton, MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Cornell, Harvey Mudd

A bit of a bummer but I'm really happy with Middlebury.

Your stats are very impressive and no doubt any other year would have resulted in more acceptances. Your need for a lot of financial aid as an international must also have been a hindrance. Nevertheless you have an exciting time ahead and your hard work will pay off. Well done!

Also, perhaps you should post this on the international forum as it would help others guage their results.

Hey Dude the annual peace conference at UWC is not going to help. But if you did it with CEC, the Conflict Engagement Resolution Program, you should have name CEC because apparently some colleges just love CEC

armaan, what country are you from?

That's cold from rice
