I know this is better suited for my counselor, but I'm curious to see if this has any impact on my transcript. I've just received my report card today, and my first semester of my freshman year was rather poor (4 Bs, 3 As.) However, the second semester, I received all As, and I've noticed a column that says "Final Grade Average" which rounds the two up, giving me straight As throughout the year. What I'd like to know is if this is common for an HS report card, or is it perhaps what will show up on my transcript? Just checking.

Thanks! :)

I’m pretty sure it would depend on your school’s regulations/rules.

Most schools list just semester 1 and semester 2 grades, so I assume all three would show up on yours, although, if there is a Final Grade Average I’m not sure what the point would be if it wasn’t to be the only one listed.

Generally, schools report grades on a semester basis where the semesters are independent of one another, but it varies by school. However, colleges will only receive the transcript that your school gives them, so if your transcript only consists of the final grade, then colleges will only see your final grade. You can ask your counselor for your transcript if you’d like.
