The schools I plan on applying to are (in no order):

RIT
University of Rochester *
Penn State
Juniata College *
SUNY-ESF *
UMBC *
Drexel
SUNY Oswego
U of Delaware

Ones with a * are the ones I've visited.

I'm from Pennsylvania.

My GPA is 3.4 weighted. I've taken 2 AP classes and I'm taking another one next year.
My SAT scores are: 690 CR, 650 M, 620 W, 8 E, total 1960. I plan on retaking them in the fall and improving to 2200+. I'm also taking the SAT Subject Tests in Bio and Math 2 and am aiming for a 750+ on both.
My ACT scores are: 35 E, 24 S, 32 R, 27 M, composite 30. I plan on retaking them in teh fall and improving to 33+.

I have only one extracurricular worth mentioning - the Environmental Action club. I've only been in it for one year but I like it. At the school's I've interviewed for I've explained why I like it and why I was only in it for one year.

I am very worried that I won't get into any of these colleges. Could somebody please chance me, assuming that I achieve my goals on the standardized tests? Thanks.

You will get into at least one, I can assure you of that. I don’t know much about those schools, but I know that they aren’t highly ranked for the most part. Your ACT score is high; I suggest just focusing on that and not retaking the SAT I. And join more clubs/sports before you apply. Any community service or awards?

Chance back if you have the chance:

Thanks, anyone else?
Also I think I’m going to retake the SATs no matter what cause I went into it cold without even knowing the essay was first, so I’m sure I can do better.

bump, anyone else?

Dont worry, you’ll definetely get into ESF, and oswego, they arent too tough to get into

What about the other schools?

you will get into JUniata and Suny Oswego for sure.

Scoring a 1960 your first time and expecting to assume you’ll get over 2200 the next is slightly obsurd. That’s going to take a significant amount of dedication and time… saying you “plan” on getting them to a certain level is not as easy as it seems. In any case good luck, I think you’ll do fine regardless.

If you’re from Pennsylvania it’s pretty easy to get into Penn State… especially with a 30 ACT.
