Just a question for those who are really informed about these colleges, I have gotten accepted at The University of Central Florida, University of Alabama, and AMDA. I was wondering if any of you could weigh in on what school will prepare me for getting jobs when i graduate.

I am no expert - others can tell you other perspectives on this - but this is my take on making your choice:

1) Where will you be happiest? Where do you click with the people, and where does the program fit what you want to study? You have to live through this for X number of years, so you might as well be happy and comfortable there.

2) What can you afford? Don’t exceed the maximum cost or debt that you and your family feel comfortable with. This includes travel and living expenses.

3) As for getting jobs, I’d say that depends on 3 factors: your training, what you can project in an audition (training combined with what you make of it, and your innate ability), and how you find and pursue opportunities.

Certainly the training is inherent in the school and the program - although people have different tastes and needs, so you’ll have to decide for yourself what training seems best. What you make of your training, how you behave at auditions, and how “talented” you are will have nothing to do with the school you choose. How you find jobs and how you decide to pursue them can be enhanced by the services and support your school will provide, also by the kinds of alumni connections you might make. But I think that is only really relevant at the beginning of your career - soon after that you will get jobs based on the work you have done as a professional, and, again, on how you use your training and present yourself at auditions.
