Final UM Update Question!!

Dear X University Admissions Committee,
As some information regarding my academic achievements was not available at the time that I completed my freshman application for the fall 2013 semester (in August 2012), I would like to provide an update to my application file. I would like to add to my academic honors that I was recently recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar for my PSAT scores as a junior in high school. I also will be taking the SAT again on January 26, so will be sending more recent scores for your consideration as soon as they become available.
Thank you kindly. I look forward to hearing from X University soon.

Is this appropriately worded to send by email to a few schools that are still pending their decisions?
I am only concerned about the part where I say I will retake the SAT. My first scores were so-so (nothing as special as I know that I can do!), and my ACT was great, so I don't mind if they review those....I would really be sending the newer scores for scholarship consideration. Anyways, I am only worried because I do not want this school to delay reviewing my application if I include that part. So should I just take it out and send the scores only?

Thank you!
