Finalizing College List - Taking Suggestions

Hey there.

I’m attempting to finalize my college list and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me. My stats are as followed:

-In the IB diploma program at prestigious boarding school
-HL Econ, HL Anthropology, HL English Lang and Lit, SL Math, SL Spanish ab initio, SL Physics (37/42)
-29 on the ACT, hopefully bringing it up to 30+ in September
-Eagle Scout
-State Vice President of Student Organization
-Student Ambassador
-Head Delegate of MUN Chapter
-Prefect for School House (Student Government)
-Squash Club Leader
-Stage Production Club Leader
-Served on youth advisory board to a Catholic bishop
-Co-President of international relations club

Right now my list is as followed

  1. Dartmouth
  2. Vanderbilt
  3. Richmond
  4. Washington and Lee
  5. UGA
  6. Ole Miss
  7. UTK
  8. Rhodes
  9. Clemson

I’d prefer a midsized school with tons of school spirit and a vast alumni network. I’m planning on majoring in Economics and a language such as Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or French.

Any suggestions for schools that might’ve flown under my radar? Trying to look at schools that I could potentially win enough scholarships to bring the total cost down to around ~$25k or so.

For further suggestions for the serious study of economics, these analyses could be helpful: “Economics Departments at Liberal Arts Colleges” and “US Economics Departments” IDEAS.

Grades? Any class rank?

Are you going to qualify for need based aid? Dartmouth doesn’t offer merit aid and your chance of getting any/much at Vandy/Richmond/W&L with a 29 ACT is marginal. Are your parents willing to pay full private school tuition, R&B if you don’t qualify for need based aid and don’t get merit?
