for us ED people, do you think our loans will just turn into grants or something?

For example, if I got 10 k in loans, will it just turn into 3k loans, 7k extra grants added onto what they already offered before?

I hope they're gonna redo our packages, since what we got was just an estimate, right? (seeing how we didnt submit FAFSA or anything yet)

yeah.. me too. I really hope that they redo my package... or else I will end up with like $50,000 in debt...

Honestly, this is a HUGE step for Cornell, and I am very anxious to see what they do to my finaid package next year. There are so many students here that it really is harder for Cornell to do what the other ivies do with their aid, so I see this as a very big leap for us.

I think they should have included whether or not they would redo current packages for ED applicants...

I'm sure they will since this plan starts happening 08-09 year. I'd call just to make sure tho

Cornell! You are 4 years too late! Will you please forgive my previous loans? :)

Yea...this is a huge step for Cornell! We should all be proud of Cornell!

^^I wish man.....

It wouldn't be a bad idea if they just took away loans altogether.

loans are capped at $3000 per year for incomes $60,000 to $120,000. Just wondering for current cornell students in this income bracket: how much were you taking out in loans with the old financial aid plan?

I averaged $8,000/yr in loans. A $3,000 cap is not bad at all.
