anyone have experience with the Masters Creative Writing in Prose class?

Next summer, I am thinking about taking the Creative Writing program as an incoming SOPHMORE. Here are some of the questions I have, I would appreciate it alot if you could answer some them.

Around how big are the classes?

How is the work load?

Is it a challenging and enriching experience?

Does Colombia allow you to leave campus to explore the city as you wish, as long as you attend the classes and complete the work? Like do they care what you do outside of class time?

Could you get one on one consultations with the professors?

I was just wondering what anyone with experience thought of this course who have taken this course recently, thanks!

despite how the original poster described it, i applied to the program. does anyone know how exclusive it is? I have all As but my essays were a little bland. thanks!

I tried making my own board about this but no one replied yet… Anyway, what is the Communicating with Consumers class like? Considering either taking that or Digital Filmmaking. Is that class good for beginners? What is the average class day/weekend day like?

From what I can see, the only people who liked this program did a creative writing class. I will most likely be doing the Michigan Math and Science Scholars program (or the SSP program in New Mexico if I get in) in light of this new information.

Hi Everyone, i’m a junior currently. i’m planning to apply for Columbia U high school program, i’m interested in communicating with consumers course. i just figured that would be super helpful if i could get some info from those who took the course earlier. i would love to know anything about that course or any economy/marketing related courses. it’s shown that class ends at 2p.m everyday, i wonder what would you usually do after class? any activities for residential students? thx

Hi, I’m a junior looking into the Columbia summer program. I’m curious as to what you do outside of the classroom and what the homework tends to look like (I’m interested mainly in the creative writing program). Also, how was the experience as a whole? Any info would be helpful, thanks!
Hello guys,
I’ve got accepted into the program, I’ll take the Biomedical Engineering : Physical Effects on Cells. Is anyone here attending the same course I’m attending?
^Have you read the OP on this thread?
