Is it worth to Double Major in Finance and Econ. Double Majoring will definately bring down my GPA a bit because while all my classmates take easy classes to boost their gpa, I will have to take Econ classes instead. Small GPA Sacrifice or Double Major?

you'd be better off double majoring in something useful, such as accounting + finance

my school doesnt offer that...The best double major they offer is anything with business and Econ. So Finance and Econ is what im thinkin but my gpa will be sacrificed a little. I dont know if its worth it.

Why would it be sacrificed?

I mean while I can take easier classes, I have to instead take upper level economics classes. Im assuming that a 101 in any subject will be easier than all upper level econ classes. So lets say the difference will be an easy A to a not so easy A-B.

an easy A and not so easy A are the same grade, don't be such a study whore, have fun in college.

maddskillz, don't you go to rutgers-nb? if you do, you can't major in business and minor in econ. i was planning on doing so also :T

actually you can, you cant double major within the business school such as Finance and Acccounting but Economics is a Major Offered by Rutgers College and Finance is a Major Offered By Rutgers Business School. So instead of fulfulling a Minor you can instead fulfill a Major and all the requirements will be satisfied. So in essense, you wont need to fulfill a minor at rutgers college because you fulfilled a major instead.

Maybe you cant Minor in Econ with a Finance Major. But you can definately Major in Econ with Finance.

ohhh double major. i was considering that, but would you get two degrees upon graduation? a ba in econ and a bs in finance?

yeah i believe so, you should definately look into it. As for me, I dont think im doing it anymore because I feel as if i can maintain 3.6+ with just Finance rather than than, lets say, 3.4 with the Double Major. It all depends on the person. If your willing to put in a little extra effort, definately go for it. But definately look into it and see if you want to do that.

nevermind, i found out it on the website.

"Students completing two majors will receive one degree, and the type of degree (BA or BS) is determined by the major listed first."

i don't think it's worth it to double major if you won't even get 2 degrees when you graduate.

ohh man, forget the double major then
