<p>since i seem to be pretty much out of luck for anything finance related for this summer (been applying to a lot of places on careernet and no response at all), are there any specific internships that open up for the fall and spring semester in nyc? i've heard that since come fall a lot of students go back to their campuses, stern students get an advantage in being able to intern during the semester. would they usually be posted on careernet or do you have to attend fairs/expos and such?</p>
<p>there are plenty of internships in the fall semester. most of them are with smaller firms, but even the bulge bracket firms offer a few positions for the fall. most of them are found via careernet. there is still competition to get those internships from other sternies or other ny students, but if your gpa and resume are fine you should be able to find one.</p>
<p>It will be tough to get an intern this year esp with the recession and the lost of jobs in Wall st. Moreover, I think people are splitting lehman bro's stock in addition with the bankrupt of bear stearn. I think you should get whatever intern you can get this year.</p>
