I spent most of my high school years taking on internships and other opportunities to explore various interests resulting in me discovering that I really enjoy business…and politics. I am from California and am hoping to be back here in the future, but I am not as worried about that. I am, however, having trouble determining which of these schools has the best program for a Finance major. After spending months figuring out at which schools I really feel I would be a “fit” I have narrowed it down to: Arizona State (Barrett Honors College-WPC Business), Southern Methodist University, University of San Diego and Pepperdine. I really like all of these campuses, no matter how diverse their qualities may seem, but would like some insight as to whether employers in the finance field have a major preference for any of them. I appreciate your help!
Also very important to me—I am planning to attend grad school within 5 years of graduating. Would good grad schools look down or up on any one of these?
My good friend got into Harvard and Yale Law school after attending Pepperdine
All of those schools suck for finance. What are your stats?
SMU is a very good school. Top 25 business school.
Financially these were my only options @invader71 I have a 33 ACT, 3.89 UW GPA and amazing EC’s, volunteer work, and work experience.
@edhkid If you don’t mind me asking, how much can your family contribute to your education per year? You have amazing stats and I would imagine that you will be a top candidate for merit aid at MANY schools.
At the very least, I think you should apply to a few UC’s since you are instate. Your stats will give you a good shot at UCLA and Berkeley.
