Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if I could get your opinion on some of the schools that I am looking at attending. I would like to pursue a major in either Finance or Economics (perhaps a double major) and then work for a major investment bank for a few years after graduation before attending law school.
I have looked at and liked University of Michigan, Georgetown, Fordham and Pitt. I was wondering if you all had any opinions on what school would be best for what I would like to do as well as any advice on my career path as described above.
Thanks!
HVe you been accepted to any yet?
Finance Schools can be ranked in 3 tiers: Target, Semi-Target, and Non-Target.
Target Schools are following: Ivy League (minus Brown), UMich, UVA, Georgetown, UChi, Northwestern, Stanford,MIT, NYU, Duke
Semi Targets include schools such as Villanova, Boston College, Wisconsin
So the overall, try to get into a target school, as they provide On campus recruiting and alumni connections. But if you can’t, you definitely still have a chance, you’ll just have to network harder.
I have not been accepted yet but I will be applying to all
Wait until you have acceptances to get answers.
@deeeznuts why did you say minus brown? Just curious
Any other opinions?
Bump
@pitt2021 Sorry, just seeing this. Brown doesn’t have the alumni base compared to other schools. I guess Finance just isn’t as popular to the student population, plus they have stronger majors. They’re still a semi-target though, and they have some limited on-campus recruiting by the major banks.
