out of NYU, Boston College, Boston University, University of Florida and Fordham, what school do you think has the best undergrad finance program, please rank if possible
NYU - BC/Fordham - BU - UF
Agree…NYU, BC. Fordham, BU, UF
<= Clearly biased…but…
UF has a higher ranked undergraduate and graduate business school than BU or Fordham. It’s also higher ranked in Finance. Even the difference between BC and UF isn’t very significant (based on the rankings).
NYU, BC, UF, then Fordham/BU
Of course, what part of the country you want to live in after you graduate also matters. For example, over 1/2 of BU’s grads that work in Finance, live in the Boston or NY areas (not a surprise). A significant number of BU Finance alumni work outside of the country (say 10 to 15%)
While about 1/2 of UF’s alumni working in Finance live in Florida (Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville,) and the other 1/2 work across the country, with large groupings in places like NY, Atlanta, Chicago, and Washington DC). Only around 5% of UF’s finance alumni work outside of the country.
@Gator88NE so if I want to live in either Boston or New York BU would be better then UF?
I would think all of the Northeast schools (you’ve listed) would be a better choice (better alumni connections and easier to hunt down internships).
With that said, plenty of UF graduates end up in NY (outside of the major Florida cities, New York has next highest number of UF finance grads), but that’s likely true for most top (top 100+) schools
Of course, other factors (cost, etc) could also come into play and be more important, when picking a school, but where you want to live should be taken into account at some point.
Good Luck!
