Im currently an incoming freshman under Business Administration. I know BA is a very broad field, this is why I'm thinking of going with finance or international relations instead. Im a little bit unsure of what my main career project should be. I have a passion for politics and social sciences but I also like business very much(after all, it can be argued that business is an extension of the social sciences).

After getting my Bachelor's degree, I hope to enlist and try out for Army Special Forces. Upon finishing my time in service, I would definitely want to pursue an MBA at an accredited graduate school. I'm very confident I will achieve this and much more.

As for my career -- I would like work in either the defense industry or the financial services industry(undecided as to which I want to concentrate on). After I've spent sometime learning the ropes and saved up some money, I would like to start my own company, preferably in the financial services industry.

Given this information on my background, do you think I should pursue a degree in finance or IR?

I'm well aware that MBA schools prefer students with majors that aren't business related at all(though, it doesn't mean they wouldn't be willing to except one or two). Also, which do you think would be more marketable? A degree in finance with an MBA or a degree in IR with an MBA?
