I was thinking of changing my major from accounting to management but after i asked some people ,they told me to stick with accounting. I’m interested in economics but i can’t major in it as it is not offered in my university. So im thinking of majoring in finance as people say that finance is similar to econ. Im not a fan of accounting but heard that it has good job prospects. Also im not that good at maths
So is it better if i take finance or accounting?
Accounting generally has better immediate job prospects straight out of school, but Finance is generally considered to be a more remunerative field in the long run.
If you decide to go inyo finance, don’t give up the accounting. Accounting is a rigorous skill set to have. Being able to really “get” spreadsheets and what’s going on in a firm will only do you well in finance. You can really drill down to see what’s happening. To my mind, it’s like really having strong craft underlying an art. Another thought is later going to law school with these creds. Big Law looks for hard skills beyond legal skills fyi.
