Financial Aid and Admissions

Hello, I was wondering if NYU knows whether or not you've applied for financial aid when reviewing your application. More specifically, will the admissions committee give any consideration to the fact that i don't need any financial aid at all? I know it's not exactly written anywhere, but when it comes down to it I think that since it's a private school, money probably does play a role in things such as admissions decisions.

Thanks!

I really don't know, but it can't hurt NOT to need financial aid. They ask that you submit a FASFA early, but I would, if I were running the university, take someone with no financial aid need, so I could balance that out someone with extreme need. Actually, I think, that since you don't need financial aid, you would get accepted easier than someone that might need lots of aid, JMO,

they claim that financial aid is NOT taken into consideration during the admissions process. but then again, thats what they claim. haha
