Financial Aid and Divorced Parents

I am a considering applying to Michigan but financial aid to very important or else I can't attend. My parents are divorced and I live with my father who makes around $22,000 a year. My mother makes around $50,000 dollars a year. My mother however won't contribute at all and my father can barely afford to contribute anything. Will Michigan take this into consideration in a financial aid package? (Out of Sate)

Try using UofM’s net price calculator. You might need to talk to your mom to fill it out accurately as Michigan is one of the very few public universities that uses the College Board’s Profile product. The profile will require both parents’ financial info. University of Michigan does not guarantee to meet need for out of state students. For your in-state publics, if they are FAFSA only universities, they will only require your custodial parent’s information (your father).
