financial aid and getting remarried

At most of the CSS schools, you are required to submit the income from both parents even if divorced. If the custodial parent remarries, are you still required to submit the income of the other divorced parent or just the new spouse?

Only about 30% of the Profile schools require the income of the non-custodial parent to be reported. For those schools, non-custodial income/assets are required regardless of the custodial parent’s marital status.

Thanks. So schools like the Ivies would require the non-custodial parent even if the custodial parent were to remarry?

Yes.

I do believe it is both biological parents’ household income - so your custodial parent and their spouse (if there is one) and your non-custodial parent and their spouse’s information.

You have a duplicate thread on the financial aid forum with some good responses there.

Check the Princeton requirements for remarried parents. Princeton uses its own form.

Also, Iif you are truly a competitive applicant for the Ivies, you would be a competitive applicant for merit aid at a number of fine schools. There is a thread with automatic full tuition/full ride scholarships as a stickie on the financial aid forum. Check that.

Yes…schools that require the NCP Profile will require info from both the NCP and spouse. The regular Profile will require the custodial parent and spouse.
