Hey, so my situation is that I'm an international student and I have applied for financial aid. The reason that I applied for fin. aid is because my dad wanted me to, although all estimators have showed that we don't need any. Now I know that if UChicago takes into consideration your financial status when making decisions, and this places you in an extremely competitive pool. But, if they see that I don't really need the money, will they "transfer" me to the less competitive pool and thus increase my chances?

From the UChicago website:

"At the University of Chicago, the Admissions Committee evaluates admissions applications without regard to financial need. "

Seashore -
not true for Internationals - it is much more competitive for them at Chicago as it is at more schools. Look at the International section on admissions for details.

Zarah07 -
don't know the answer.

Wait.. you don't NEED ANY at a 50k school?
You must be the richest person, well, ever.

I stand corrected! If your father agrees, I'd get on the phone or email the admissions office and say that you will not be seeking aid after all.

no... i'm not the richest person, i wish.... God i'm starting to regret this financial aid application
