<p>Yes there is that chance. There are some readers/posters here who know a lot about fin aid. Can you post any more details so they can help you? What category are you “high” in that might change a financial officer’s mind? </p>
<p>On one occasion a financial aid package review ended up giving us some extra bucks that an officer later said should not have been done – but that they would not yank it back from S. I gave the officer profuse thanks and slunk off. I can imagine this scenario varies greatly depending on the details. There might not be a fuss over $50 but big bucks . . .</p>
<p>It worked with us. The school you are appealing to will want to see the offers you had from other schools. It helps to give them an exact dollar amount for what would bring you to the school. I think at the appeal level, it is no longer necessary to hold back on bottom line amount needed and the schools seem to appreciate the honesty.</p>
