Financial aid application requirements

What are the requirements when applying for financial aid at Smith? Like, what paper work is required? I'm a bit confused as to what they expect to be submitted.

you need to do the CSS profile and FASFA

There are links to all the forms on the financial aid site which you can get to through the admissions web page. Be advised it’s better to contact them early with questions - it wasn’t always easy to get a fast answer when things were very busy around deadlines.

There’s also a separate Smith-only financial aid form called the “Smith Aid Application for Traditional Students”…I think it only applies to US and Canadian applicants.

that was the paper that I was most unsure about. some of the questions don’t quite make sense, and I am unsure of how to answer them.

Wait…are we talking about the same form? The one I have just asks how much my assets are worth, whether or not I’ve received any outside scholarships, and whether I’m in debt to the U.S. government. I’m leaving the scholarship section blank because I don’t know if I received any yet. I found the PROFILE waaay more confusing…though that could be because I’m international and barely understand the tax requirements in my OWN country. :P
