Does BC generally give out need based aid to students in the upper middle class bracket?

No. If you belong to the upper-middle class, why would you need need-based aid? The money is usually reserved for lower income.

And do they offer non need based scholarships? I couldn't really find any information on their website

Yes. They do offer 15 merit scholarships known as the Presidential Scholarships. To be competitive, a 4.0/4.0 GPA and a 2350+ GPA are minimum requirements to be invited to a weekend retreat and you'd then have to do interviews and write essays.

"What qualifications must an applicant have to be eligible for the Presidential Scholars Program?

There is no minimum GPA or SAT score requirement. However, we are looking for students with outstanding academic records, who hold leadership roles in their school and who are committed to and have a demonstrated interest in community service. Typically, the students selected are in the top 1-2 percent of the national pool of freshman applicants."

Reddune isn't talking about ACTUAL requirements, but just noting that those invited to attend typically have stats in that super-high range.
