Financial aid at Binghampton and SUNY in general for instate?

Are the net price calculators for Binghampton or other similar SUNY schools a good predictor of net costs for in-state students, assuming one knows the expected FAFSA contribution? The kid got admitted but it seems getting a letter with the actual finances is going to take time. Perhaps people from previous years who go admitted could comment if the official costs came in close to the expectation?
