Just received my acceptance on my LMU web-page today! Soooo Happy! However my "MY AID" account shows me paying the full $53,000, with no assistance. Do they update that page later or was everyone else able to see their aid right away? Hopefully my page hasn't been updated yet or I will not be attending.

I am not sure when they update the student page online, but when I called LMU, they said that scholarships and financial aid are sent out 2 to 4 weeks after admission decisions.

My daughter received hers in the mail 2 weeks after her admission, but that was in mid January, and I would guess things would be slower now because most of the applications are received in January.

Thanks BayAreaCAMom. That makes me feel alot better.

I just got an email telling me they uploaded my financial aid page a couple days ago. Their aid (for me, at least) is pretty fail-ish. And it’s worth the use of “fail-ish” on a (somewhat) academic site to describe it. It’s pretty much only paying off the extra room/board expenses and things like that, but not the actual tuition’s worth. That just made me sad because I got enough to cover everything (even though it included loans) at another school.

But yeah, it took a little while after acceptance for them to update it. =P

SFgirl92…you will receive something by the end of March. They will send you an email to alert you to the fact that you aid has been updated.

trumpetcolor: I don’t want to tell you how to look at financial aid, but would suggest that you give a look from another perspective. I believe that you will be better off comparing and weighing things from each University in this order: scholarships and grants, work study and job availability, Stafford Loan subsidized, Stafford loan unsubsidized, then other loans. You may get a different picture.

How do you access the MyLMU webpage? D was accepted but has not yet said she will attend. Do you have to have accepted to access it? On the MyLMU homepage I see user name and password but not sure what to fill in - her letter only references the enrollment deposit site - and also PROWL. Any help would be appreciated!

You need to set-up MyPAW and MyAID accounts to get a username and set a password. Your daughter should have received an email a week or so after applying with the subject “Now that you are one of us”. It had the instructions for setting up accounts. My son has been accepted and I was able to go into MyAID to find out how much he was being offered in scholarship money. If you don’t have that email, our email said to send an email message to: admissions@lmu.edu with “MyLMU login” in the subject line and they will get back to you within 24 hours. Hope this helps! And congratulations to your daughter! Oh, almost forgot, you don’t have to have accepted to set up the accounts.

Thank you SoCalMusicMom!

And congratulations to your son! D is really struggling right now with which school to choose - but thankfully it will all be over soon! :-)

I have a question:

I got accepted today, however I received an email a couple days ago that the MyAid was updated with new information and my award letter. However, when I logged on today, it showed no letter. Do I receive information in the mail with merit later, and was this just a mass email? Thanks!

daughter received a letter with scholarship and financial aid information, about 2 weeks after her admission letter. but that was early in January, so it may take a bit longer now.

Good luck!

how do they notify students about their finaid status? myaid and prowl really confuse me! am I supposed to be seeing something about whether I was awarded any finaid? because I don’t see anything!

Could any current parent whose child attend LMU give us an example how much financial aid LMU gives? Thanks.
