Financial aid at rice

<p>I need to decide if I will be going to Rice by May 7th. I got my fin aid package today and it's around $11k (no merit since I'm a waitlistee). According to FAFSA, my EFC is around $25k~. My parents called the financial aid office today to talk to them about this and see if that gap might be able to be closed, even if just a little.</p>

<p>Is it likely they will meet my EFC or at least make their offer closer to it?</p>

<p>they wouldn’t change mine, even after I told them that was the most important thing if I was to go to Rice.</p>

<p>I emailed and explained my situation. I got a very kind email back, and they reconsidered my package. Nothing but good things to say on this end.</p>

<p>Rice uses the CSS Profile not the FAFSA alone. But it never hurts to ask.</p>
